Congratulations to Felipe Massa on winning the French Grand Prix and taking the lead in the Championship.
Kimi Raikkonen was quicker until the exhaust problem. He managed to nurse the car and finish second scoring some valuable points for his championship quest.
Excellent race from Jarno Trulli finishing 3rd, that wasn't expected from the Toyota and a good dedication to the late Ove Andersson.

Kovalainen tried but couldn't pass Trulli and settled for 4th. Kubica managed to put the struggling BMW in 5th. Webber did a good job finishing ahead of the 2 works Renaults while Piquet finally has a decent race and finishes in 7th ahead of his team-mate Alonso who appears to have gone with an agressive strategy that didn't work.

Your thoughts and the driver of the day ?

An epic race for Jarno Trulli who gets my vote. Special mention for the two Ferrari drivers that did very well today as well. An interesting team strategy for Alonso. I guess he lost too many places at the start for it to work.

Lewis did not do bad considering, but he did a mistake that cost him a penalty and had to fight at the back.

Trulli gets my driver of the day vote. To get third in a toyota on merit is a great effort. I found the battle at the front to be boring. :nap:

I believe that Hamiltons penalty was deserved.

I was pleased to see Massa win but agree that DotD is Trulli. Kimi did well to nurse his car to the finish and it was good to see Piquet doing a bit better than he has been so far. It was a great race between Trulli, Kovalainen and Kubica!!! Also good to see Mark Webber in the points again..... would love to see him in a better car!!!

I must that that I was dissapointed with the performance from Alonso. I expected a lot more from him. He was again light on fuel and I suppose his stuffed up start stuffed him up! Still he was giving positions too easily and in the end 8th isn't good.

Trulli was certainly the driver of the day for me. Massa got lucky but maybe it is his turn to be lucky :D
Raikkonen was also lucky to get 8 points.

Well done to Webber and Piquet too

Hamilton, well I think his dark side is starting to show....
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

THIS IS WEIRD, I am agreeing with JayVee  I was also disappointed with Alonso's performance, not at all consistent with the practice and qualifying times he put in. He also didn't seem to be as aggressive as usual. (maybe he is just making sure that he doesn't perform too well so he can exercise his option of an out if something better comes along?) :conf3:

Good tactical race from trulli. with good drives from Weber and Piquet

And just in case you hadn't noticed, and I say this very much tongue in cheek, Lewis's dark side has always shown.

As for my picks..................
I'm in shape

Round is a shape...........

Good race for Ferrari...generally. Massa only ever wins from pole when he is first after the first corner. I have yet to see Massa take a win a la Kimi, Hambone or Alonso when trailing.

Great result for Toyota and Jarno Trulli (my DoftheD). Rookie teammate Timo doesn't look too shabby either.

Okay, so Hamilton got the penalty which basically took him out of real contention. So why was Kovalainnen so far off the pace of even the Toyota? He makes the McLaren look downright ordinary.

Good result for Mark Webber.

Alonso is still his racy self. It is such a joy to watch him drive!

BMW-Sauber looked good again despite the finish results. With the major teams continually mired in drama, BMW-Sauber could take this championship.

Impressed with the pace of Kazu Nakajima again. Dumbfounded by the performance of Jenson Button again.

Sebastien Vettel is the real deal. Nelson Piquet had a pretty fair to middling race IMHO. He is overrated (mostly in his own mind). Nico Rosberg is underrated (mostly in my own mind). Sebastian Bourdais struggled again. He won't get too far in F1 flipping off his own team like he did in Canada.

AND IT'S ON TO BRITAIN!!!

Cheers, darlings!!
