Montoya is catching Alonso. He is under 4 seconds behind him.

Montoya has yet to stop but it he is likely on a single stop

Another tangle involving Villeneuve. He hits the back of Monteiro as he tries to pass him. Villeneuve loses the front wing and is limping back to the pits!

Monteiro was clearly at fault as he moved across without noticing Villeneuve was there!

So following the first round of stops the order is Raikkonen, Alonso, M Schumacher, Button, Montoya, Fisichella, Coulthard and R Schumacher (Lap 31)

Close fights: Button closing in on Michael - gap 1.2 seconds
Heidfeld in 9th fighting with Ralf Schumacher - gap 1 second
Klien in 12th fighting Barrichello - gap 0.9 seconds

In both cases the fuel loads are different!

Hard luck for Raikkonen as he clearly dominated the race so far however reliability seems to always be an issue with McLaren
