My hypothesis is that the floor rises, accelerating, at an angle to meet the barstool and its occupant. Which is why I always drink standing up, with shoulder blades in close proximity to wall. Thus when the unruly floor begins its intoxicated antics one may slide gently and gracefully to a sitting position where further study of the bottom of ones alcohol recepticle may take place with minimum disruption, and maximum safety,with an often enhanced view.
