Initially the Michelin runners were not going to go out but then they have decided to go out but the latest is that they will not race. They are on the grid however

exactly ed, gotta think about the fans.... america is a huge market for F1, and if this race doesnt happen, they can forget about it for another 20 years or so. and all other markets outside of europe.... whichever way you look at it, this is a huge blow for F1,
personally i blame ferrari, the only team not to accept a chicane. it seems all they care about is winning, even if no one is watching them do it.
come on Alonso and Renault! backed at outrageous odds (20/1 and 10/1) at start of season... make me rich!!

With the current political situation in Formula 1, it would have been very hard to find a solution to this.

It remains to be seen whether the Michelins will pit on the formation lap or take part in the start.
