Thanks. I remember most of the stuff I read there. At one time using that book I had compiled a list of some famous folks' real names versus their stage aliases. Some names were real easy to remember. Can you imagine Elton still being called Reginald?

No.... more like Susie or something like that.

There were 70-odd bands on that picture

well it was only a hint/clue not the answer.

That's a toughie. I don't want to just guess. Brady Bunch thing makes me think of Pearl Jam for some reason but that was not in the picture. It must be an 80s or 90s band because of Brady Bunch. I will have to work on this one a little more unless someone can come up with the answer right now.
