Well perhaps not the WDC title but the Aguri team is improving quite fast. I wouldn't be that surprised if they end up in the points in a race or two.
Correct me if I am wrong but on reading that I have to ask, do my ears deceive me? Sato will t-bone Davo at least 3 times this season 8)
Probably thts the only way Sato will earn points
Until recently Sato was apparently thinking that he'd get points by smashing as many opponents as possible :) Come new season that might well change.

Joke aside I think that Ant and Sato will fight for points this year. Remember Sato's #9 finish last year? Davidson is a good driver too. Wİth the Honda chassis and engine they can cause major headaches for the lesser teams...

Then again Aguris might still fail to register a point :) But they will fight :box1:

I am prepared to wager a spondulick that Sato will be in the exhaust gasses from Davos car, if he is absolutely on top form, 8)

Massa was never championship material as he was and still is erratic. Yes he won races last year but it remains to be seen if he can mount a challenge.
 :that: :good:

There is only one reason for such a response ...

:bouncey:

So now Massa will beat Alonso, Raikkonen, Fisichella, Button, and the Bimmer twins? Classic!

For the top 5 in 2007, I predict:

Alonso [to three-peat]
Raikkonen [missed it by that much]
Button [more consistent threat]
Fisichella [could've been higher]
Kubica [will occasionally blow the door off everyone including FA and KR]

:bouncey: :watcha:
Ya know...

I just re-read a blow by blow description of the last race of 2006. Massa won it in fine style. If Michael needed him to, he would certainly have given way for the WC, but all things being equal, his victory was flawless. He certainly has been the most exciting teammate Michael Schumacher has ever had with the exception of Johnny Herbert or Eddie Irvine (who was a much more interesting character than he was a driver). Herbert was the only other teammate I felt could win without a Michael failure.

Massa is young and was never overawed of Schumacher which may explain why he has so many title believers this year. I don't believe Kimi Raikkonen has reached his "sell-by" date, but he will have his hands full with Massa much more so than any of the other drivers in top teams.

So I guess I am becoming a Massa believer. He has done something only the best drivers from his country has done in winning a home race in Brazil. I had been waiting for Rubens Barichello to do it (he certainly showed the pace), but now Massa is in company with Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, and Emerson Fittipaldi-- all multiple title holders!!

There are only a few racetracks where its winners more often than not go on to win titles: Monaco and Brands Hatch come to mind. Interlagos is definitely one. Only the most together racers win that one.

RE30B#16,

thats sh1te, FELIPE probably is the best team mate MICHAEL ever had, true. But to not even mention RUBENS is bad taste! He was way way closer than JOHNNY, in fact EDDIE was the next and then MARTIN.....JOHNNY being the weakest on the list. NELSON didnt look great against MICHAEL but I suppose he was over the top..

F1greyhound,

You wanna know what is shizzite? What you just said. MARTIN never won a GP in his whole friggin' career yet you reckon he is better than JOHNNY who won 2 GPs on merit and finished his Benetton career with 50 points scored to MARTIN's 38 (once again may I point out 0 wins)! You must've had the same math teacher as some leader of the free world right now!

I will accept that RUBENS was the most successful teammate next to MICHAEL, but what I was saying was RUBENS approached his tenure at Ferrari too much as a number 2. FELIPE's wins came on merit and not because MICHAEL was out of the race or could not win. That USGP in Indianapolis a bunch of years back left me cold on RUBENS. It was way too early in the season for something like that. This is why I made my comments. In all those years together, I never saw RUBENS go for it despite MICHAEL's wishes. After all, he was hired by FERRARI not Scuderia MICHAEL! Enzo Ferrari must be rolling in his grave.

Looking back, I've always hated "team orders." In 1982, when Didier Pironi won the San Marino GP despite a handshake agreement he made with Gilles Villeneuve to not pass if they found themselves in a one-two situation, what enraged Villeneuve was that they had made a deal man to man, and his "friend" dishonored his word. Enzo Ferrari expected them to race one another, the only caviat being don't take each other out. When Rene Arnoux (on the other hand), took the French GP that same year despite the team orders (a couple of laps before the finish, they held out a pit sign that read "Arnoux P2, Prost P1"), I felt he was justified in basically telling the team to eff off. It was not in his contract to help Alain Prost win the championship, and at the time, he had as much of a chance to win the WC as anyone. I hope this is not too much history for you.

F1greyhound, you seemed to think I make my comments in a rash way. I do not. My comments are rarely emotional or knee jerky. You have called my remarks "bollocks" and "sh1te" as well as calling me a "smart a55." Well, mister, you have issues, and I don't believe ultimately they are with me, but somehow I pull them out of you. For your sake, I am sorry, but my remarks stand. Might I suggest some chamomile tea whilst posting or perhaps a tai chi class for relaxation.

I hate team orders too. Each driver should be able to race fairly against his team mate. Unfortunately most of MS's team mates just went along with the Michael being top driver and consequently never got the chance to prove themselves. I love Rubens but it would take some sort of miracle for him to get a WDC now. Ditto DC and a few others out there. Massa may have a bit to learn yet but I don't believe anyone is perfect.

:good:

Ya know, to compare Felipe Massa with one of his more successful countrymen, he reminds me of a young Nelson Piquet. He has massive speed, but tends to toss it off into the weeds occasionally. When Piquet matured, which I know Massa will do, he became one of the most cunning competitors the sport has ever seen. He retained his pace, but added superb race craft to the soup. Nelson Piquet was the best in the sport heading into the 80s (those years of tutelage from Niki Lauda paid off).

So I have lots of faith in Felipe Massa, and I will tell you, I was sleeping on him. I believe Kimi Raikkonen will have a tough time staying ahead of his new teammate.
