Session over - Top 8: Alonso, Massa, Vettel, Hamilton, Button, Nakajima, Coulthard, Kovalainen.

Sutil covered the most number of laps with 26 followed by Alonso with 22. Davidson did the least number of laps with 6.

Note that this year, teams can do as many laps during Friday practice as the 2 weekend engine rules only apply to Saturday and Sunday

Exciting session I just caught the last 4 mins on live timing and wondered wtf was going on! So it was wet!

How long before the next session Ed? I only ask because the official FIA site converted the time to 12.30 and 3.30 so I missed a 56 mins of that one!

The first session was a drying track. A few drivers went on dry tyres early on but then reverted back to intermediates. It was only until Webber set a blistering time on dry tyres that everyone else went out on dry tyres. There was only 6 minutes remaining.

The second session starts at 14:00 local time (in just over an hour from now). Friday sessions are 1.5 hours each this year.
