I never got to see Stirling Moss drive F1, but I know some older race fans who say that no one was better than Stirling in his time.

There are some other drivers that I remember as being absolutely phenomenal without a lot of fanfare. Here's a short list:

Brian Redman
Mark Donohue
Jacky Ickx
Al Unser, Sr
Stirling was fast, but not kind to cars.
He n Jack Brabham had some good races against each other in the Tasman series, Stirling would streak off, Jack would sit in second place, Stirling would break the thing .
I used to watch, sitting on my dad's shoulders

Well, everybody has his time. This season looks to live up to something and for the moment Im just missing the racing...4 weeks is long..

It is always exciting to recall the great champions of the past..probably too early to recall MICHAEL, arguably the greatest driver in the history of the sport. I suppose this will look different in 5, 10 or 20 years even if some people wont ever like him..but I consider him as a great and fair sportsman and a nice person, even if he made his errors(e.g.Monaco..). Im sure DAMON and MIKA would be fair judges - and they both consider him as a friend.. :P

Dont want to take anything away of the others that had been mentioned..
