I think you must also take into consideration the actual events of the race. DC started behind the back markers, MW the front markers. MW was caught behind Fisi & battling for position the entire 1st stint, DC was passing slow cars. DC has a 14 mnth start on MW......they have only just found a seat that fits MW......DC has been shaken out of his complacency by MW's Qual efforts.
Either we will see the best ever by DC, and he will continue to match MW for the next three races.......or the inexorably widening gap will commence in Spain

The fuel flap also intereferes with a whole lot of other electronics, as well as the aero as I understand it,....as reported after-race Webbo said he simply could not go faster, rather than being held up by FisiJayVee wrote:It was a good and close race!
Massa did what he does best, start from pole and win. He is impressive that way but he still needs to impress when he is coming from behind.
Hamilton was impressive too, he outqualified and outraced Alonso in his 3rd race. The Champ can have a bad race every once in a while but he will move up a step. This can only be good for the sport.
Raikkonen did a good job taking his position back from Alonso but like Alonso he didn't match his teammate.
Heidfeld did a fantastic job and I think people should give him more credit. He managed to mix it with the two top teams in a car that isn't as quick. Look at how far Kubica was behind! It seems the hype got to Kubica.
The rest, well Trulli is worth a mention and Coulthard too. Webber does impress in qualifying but he needs to do better in the race. It didn't look good when he was stuck behind Fisichella only for Coulthard to show him the way.
Looks like a very close season and Hamilton will certainly spice things up. Good luck Snowy

One impression I have is that some of the test drivers should actually race. Especially TORO ROSSO could look different with a driver like NELSON or SEBASTIAN...
