Not as strange as this comment, Julian! Hambone had another good finish, but let's not start shining his trophy just yet.

What??!? Pleazze! In his wildest dreams, Mickelson will never be as good as Tiger Woods. This is not to say he will never win a tournament against Woods in his career, however. Fernando is too young, and too successful to be flustered by Lewis Hamilton, with whom it is rumoured he gets on with extremely well.

My favourite Diver just won the 10metre Australasian championship......I have some trophys for the same event lying around in a sports bag somewhere...... I don't mix my sports........Hambone has broken a record held by Bruce McLaren

How did that lap compare to DC's fastest lap......Massa's fastest lap? Satos' fastest lap?
I have enjoyed the company of many a Spaniard,.senors n senorita both.......for many years at the "Spanish Club", in Liverpool St, Sydney......because I enjoy it, and I cannot find a better Paella anywhere.

For me DOTD was Massa.

Great work getting pole and kept his cool and won. Sato did well, as a lot have voted for him as DOTD but IMHO he would not have been in p8 if it hadn't been for so many going out.

Much has been said about this fine GP. Not overly exciting but still some nailbiting..

Sorry for NICK who might have finished on the podium but in the end the poor pitstop didnt matter as his gearbox broke down anyway. HEIKKI was impressive also while DAVID, NICO and TAKU also made fine drives.

Driver of the day FELIPE because I feel the MCLAREN might actually be the quicker car at the moment...and he was FAST!

FERNANDO was determined, made a great start, got his nose in front but I think he cut in a bit too early so FELIPE really couldnt avoid the contact. However I dont want to blame him for trying just like I didnt want to see FELIPE blamed in Sepang. These guys are fantastic and I love to see them trying. I dont think FERNANDO could have driven a better race after that 1st corner and he is by no means overly impressed by LEWIS. LEWIS is a fantastic rookie but he has got the package. HEIKKI was as good today and probably even ADRIAN who got the max out of the slowest package. I am certain FERNANDO will prove a clear No.1 within the during the season....

KIMI will be exciting under pressure...

Waiting for MONACO...

of your opinion of Alonso. At least to me it appeared hidden!!

Not sure where you are getting the information that Alonso set his lap when all else is history, I checked and his fastest lap was on lap 17

It was 1:22.966 compared to 1:22.876 for Hamilton. DC was 1:23.524 and Sato was 1:24.110.

On what you term a desparate lunge, do we want drivers to go for it or we would rather see them line up behind each other ? Alonso shouldn't be critisised for trying.
As for desparate, why ? He is out there to win, he could have stayed behind and got second but it was a clear oppurtunity and had it stuck we would have said how fantastic it was. He has pulled off many of those in the past, I think Malaysia last year I think with double the fuel load of everyone else.

I really want Hamilton to put even more pressure on Alonso so we see how he reacts. Rattled, no way, look at his qualifying times. When he stuffs up then perhaps he is rattled.

The commentators said Alonso did his fastest lap about 10 laps from the flag.
I think that if Alonso had gone for it on L2, if he was still in touch, he would have had a better chance. Massa was always going to do a Schuey on L1, and it opened the door for Hambone.

We just can't trust those commentators!

I heard them state that Fernando had set his fastest lap of the race about ten laps from the end and I was watching the Live Timing and it definately suggested he had just set his fastest lap! So now we can't trust the Live Timing either!

Life goes from bad to worse!

On a lighter note. Fernando's attempted overtaking was well executed he was clearly visible to Felipe and Felipe had every opportunity to avoid contact and possibly a life threatening accident. He chose the synical, tried and tested Michael Schumacher approach. I thought that kind of deliberate barging of the opponents car had been outlawed back in the 90's. Obviously I was mistaken.

Expect Fernando to take no prisoners at Monaco and Massa deserves a taste of his own (not actually his own it's MS's) medicine. I look forward to a tangled mess of Fiats at turn one and a majestic fleet of McLaren's heading off to certain victory!

I have to say that I couldn't bring myself to choose a Drive of the Day. Not from this little Sunday drive.

Nowhere does it say you have to love a race that's over at the exit of Turn One!

It looked to me like this is an excellent track to stage a motorcycle race on, but it is WAY too narrow and flat for F1 cars! And the commentators, in English, at least, were nutty about how 'exciting' FA's little 'off' on Turn One was. Exciting? Wait a minute. Wait a minute!

Now that we've come to order. What kind of penalty is it when the man just a tick of the watch off the pole can go OFF THE BLOODY RACECOURSE AND ONLY LOSE TWO POSITIONS!!

I say if they're going to have 'no penalty offs', couldn't they, at least, take out the curbs and just install juicy wet grass inside the apexes?? Say a couple of metres wide, followed by some nice gravel and some tire barriers? That way when a driver charged for a position, he'd pay for his mistake. And it would be more fun, too, to watch a million dollar race car spinning like a top across the grass and then getting stuck in the sand pits.

Of course, I'm just crabby because the wheels fell off Kimi's car. But isn't it the truth: after Kimi's exit no one was even trying to catch Felipe. And Felipe wasn't exactly burning up the track, either.

I love F1 for the beautiful machines. Yes. But I also love RACING. And as long as the points are so close, and as long as the teams are driven by the championship, we're going to get less and less racing and more and more strategy or 'racecraft' or whatever other tony word you can dream up for taking the race out of racing.

Couldn't we just have a ZERO POINTS race at Spa, say, where the winning driver and winning crew each gets a million Euros --and second place is nothing more than first of the losers? Wouldn't THAT be fun? And do you think the contest would only be on the first turn??!@!

O.K. enough from me. And for sure I am dropping, this week, way DOWN into the third century!!
