I believe Las Vegas is the only place that will attempt to afford hosting a GP. There was talk a few years ago about building a major road course adjacent to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It could still happen. Vegas has enough hotel rooms and an international airport (a major problem for Laguna Seca and Road America).
There has been talk of street races in Miami Beach and New York City.
Another track I think would be a great track for Formula 1 is Sonoma (Infineon Raceway) in Northern California which hosts one of the few IRL races on a road course.
Bernie is too greedy for most of these race tracks. He has found that it pays better to bamboosle some American city into hosting a street race.

Yup, Bernie has booted the two countries most involved in motorsport growth out of F1RE30B#16 wrote:I believe Las Vegas is the only place that will attempt to afford hosting a GP. There's a lot of Asian money out there to boost his coffers.Julian Mayo wrote:There's a lot of Asian money out there to boost his coffers.RE30B#16 wrote:I believe Las Vegas is the only place that will attempt to afford hosting a GP. Perhaps Las Vegas. The others, as you say, would never match Bernie's $ standards.RE30B#16 wrote:I believe Las Vegas is the only place that will attempt to afford hosting a GP. Too true I am afraid. The F1 spirit is slowly dying along with them tracks. It wouldn't really surprise me if he gave Monaco the boot in favor of a Tibetan GP some day.cmlean wrote: There's a lot of Asian money out there to boost his coffers.

BTW don't get me wrong. I like the new tracks and all. It's just that the new ones do not exactly reflect the sport, I think. The old ones, along with all the good points as well as their flaws, are special to me.
