2010 F1 regulations - budget cap - Teams threaten to quit
Moderators: cmlean, Ed, The Qualiflyer, The Heretic
A meeting between Max Mosley, Bernie Ecclestone and FOTA is now scheduled to take place on Friday (15th of May). The signs so far is that neither side is willing to back away from their positions but given that Bernie Ecclestone will be present, it is hoped that he can play as positive role in diffusing this crisis.

FOTA, Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone have met and reports indicate that no compromise has been reached however on a positive note, it appears that there is agreement on a single tier formula however the disagreement on the budget cap still stands.Julian Mayo wrote:They met.Ed wrote:A meeting between Max Mosley, Bernie Ecclestone and FOTA is now scheduled to take place on Friday (15th of May). Ferrari have indeed applied for an injunction in the French courts to stop the FIA from enforcing the 2010 rules as they have an agreement with Bernie Ecclestone that guarantee the stability of the rules.
FOTA are expected to issue a statement where they are expected to offer an alternative to the proposed budget cap.
The situation remains critical althought their appears to be some positive signs

FOTA will meet on Tuesday to find an alternative solution to the FIA's 'budget cap' proposal with the aim of presenting it to the FIA.

So the two tier proposal is in the bin, Max has egg all over his face, AGAIN, and he has to sit back and wait til the teams tell him what budget cap they will have. Mean time the European courts will announce in due course that the FIA is merely a "Policing Authority" with no power or right to introduce or alter regulations.
Hmmm, perhaps someone whispered in Max's ear that the F1 teams could easily take over the ailing A1gp series with world wide, cheap (take note, Bernie) TV coverage in place, and circuits waiting with open arms

Now would be an almost perfect time for, say, the Indycars to return to Europe and run a couple of races(say, Silverstone, EuroSpeedway, Jerez or Valencia.......)............

Meanwhile, Formula 1 continues its' slow death-spiral thanks to the shenanigans' of Sado-Max, the Dwarf, the Scuderia, McLaren, etc., etc.

We could always put Tony George in charge of Formula 1......wait; he'd actually have to work........Julian Mayo wrote:Max no doubt still has one or two toes left despite repeatedly shooting himself in the foot...............JayVee wrote:How long do we have to keep up with this rubbish ?
