I can't see how Alonso would be Witness X given that Alonso testified at the hearing and denied any knowledge.
It is more likely that Witness X is an engineer.

And it is expected that Alonso will be taking a number of engineers with him to Ferrari (story)

Unless I'm mistaken, Alonso and Permane worked well together when Alonso won his 2 WDC's, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Permane as Alonso's engineer next year.
