I think the official line from Red Bull is that Vettel had managed to save fuel during the race that he has an extra kilo of fuel and that was his only chance as the call for him to save fuel was going to happen the following lap.

Now even if that is true, that doesn't give him the right pass with no opposition from Webber, he can try but he cannot assume that Webber has to move off the racing line for him to take it! If Vettel is daring enough he should have stayed on his line and tried to outbrake Webber but obviously he would have had to brake earlier as he was on the dirty part.

I think Vettel couldn't see Webber win another race so he did this stupid and crazy move, the team bosses are equally stupid, Vettel recovered from a bad qualifying and could have finished second yet they defend him when he got nothing!

Finally the hand gestures indicating the Webber is nuts are completely unprofessional and this kid needs to be told how to behave otherwise we will have someone worse than Schumacher in a few years

Webber is certainly now on the wrong side of the team bosses. To me he is in the position were Alonso was in McLaren, Webber should be as tough as Alonso but I have a feeling that Red Bull is run worse than the way McLaren was run at the time with respect to team orders.
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

The problem for MW is most of RBR resources are going into SV's bid for WDC. The cars development etc. SV has had a smooth ride last year (due to MW's injury) & for the first 3-4 races this year but now the tide has turned & he doesn't like it. I honestly think he wants what MS had at Ferrari & he can't handle to competition. I knew if MW had pole & was leading SV was going to do something stupid.

Here's a conspiracy theory for you;
SV ducks up the inside (after possibly/probably disobeying team orders) but realises he can't get passed but instead of coming home 2nd & giving up a 7 point lead he decides to take them both out & remain equal on points with MW and back the pace of RBR to catch LH & JB.

Otherwise I just can't see why he would move over to the right so abruptly, it makes no sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On another note why did SV come out last in Q3 when it was MW's turn?
Another reason to suspect RBR are wanting to favour SV.
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.......

Is it just me, or has anyone noticed that Red Bull has effectively thrown Mark Webber under the bus following the events in Turkey?

I, for one, wouldn't be surprised if Webbo drives for another team next year(can't you just imagine him alongside Alonso at Ferrari, for instance in 2011.........    ). I mean, with friends at Red Bull like Horner and Marko, who the heck needs enemies?

And BTW, JayVee, I agree with you on Sebby V and his "hand gesture"; that was, put simply, unprofessional of him.

Mark Webber did not move into Vettel

Post by kwhopper » Tue Jun 01, 2010 6:31 pm

Give me a break, Vettel seems to the be golden child! to RBR. It's clear as day RBR would perfer Vettel in Webbers position. I feel sorry for Mark Webber the TV footage from the front view clearly shows enough room for Vettel. Mark held his line. I hope mark Webber wins the title and moves on to another team worthy of his efforts or Mark retires with satisfaction of knowing he won even with his own team boss choosing to treat him like RBR's 2nd driver.

This is lack of support and vindication towards Mark Webber is why RBR will not win the title. A team divided is a team defeted!

First off........... :welcome:
Welcome to the forums, Hopper! :)

Anyway, I agree............like I've said before, Red Bull's actions have shown they're perfectly willing to throw a pretty good driver like Webbo under the bus because in the eyes of both Dr. Marko and Chris Horner, Sebby V. is the new wunderkid and Webbo ain't. I really, really hope Webbo wins the WDC this year just to stick it to both Horner and Marko.

Thanks mlittle,

I read some posts earlier regarding Webber and Vettles come together. The opinions of those who blamed Webber must have been listening to the race on radio not actually watching it on TV.

LOL

Couldn't agree more.

I read on the F1 website... about 6:00am Monday morning (Aus time) an interview with Horner....he was backing Webber. 2 hours later that interview had been pulled.

Apparently Webber has re-signed, as opposed to resigned :)

I can't post the link  Sometimes anti spam works against the good guys
