Remember, she still has to honor any and all sponsor/team commitments first; thus, it didn't hurt nor help her in their eyes. These things happen. We forget that this was simply a multi-lap demonstration run, not a full-on testing session. Let's wait and see what happens before any of us pass judgment on Danica's potential future in Formula One.

perzactly! I am going to lie low for a day or two, See yer later

Sad for Honda
I think that is a wise decision.

A demo ride is a joke, it would be last year's car and for a couple of laps.

Shame on Honda for suggesting such (if it was them who suggested it).

Give her a proper test and see what she can do.

you must be realistic. and understand that men are TOO much superior to women in sport!!!!!!
it's like specting a woman to win the 100M (run) in a unisex world competition....
when was the last time a women won the novel prize on physics???    I must admit in science the gap is a lot smaller then in sports...
who was the last chess-world-champion female??
why do you think in most of the sports are two SEPARATED categories?????????????
answ: Because it would be UNFAIR with women, being inferior, be forced to compete with us!!! 8)

She would do much better than many who tested an F1 car. I can tell you that.

The reason she turned it down was because it would be purely marketing and proves nothing.

so woman like  Just to get it into your head sgd, BAR can't run a third car so she would be driving last year's car for a lap or two. What benefit would that give her ? Anyone with brains would do the same

She'll get a proper test and then see if she can do the job or not. You can speculate that she won't make it but don't make a joke out of it. It only reflects on you.

Amen, JayVee, amen. I said just about the same thing in an earlier posting on 16 june. Let us remember, this was only a demonstration ride, not a full-bore testing session, and would've proved nothing. Only when BAR-Honda(or another major F1 team) sets up a proper test session will we get a good reading on whether Danica Patrick can indeed make it to F1; until then, we shouldn't read anything of this, good or bad.

Mate, there are fundamental differences in the way that females are raised compared to males. Women have many centuries of male domination (represion) to catch up on. To call it a level playing field is a bit far fetched when you think about it. Women are and will catch up. That Danica can overcome so much to get where she is is a credit to her.

I think it's nobel prize isn't it.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

From a male point of view maybe

Just read the interview on the link Byron posted (http://www.motorsport.com/news/article.asp?ID=188734). Some good responses from Danica. I particularly like this one:
Do you have a schedule?): "I have no schedule. Like I said, I am very pleased where I am. Opportunities will arise when they do, and I will deal with them when they come. I really cannot say that there is a timeline on anything. When you are successful, things take care of themselves. People want you, and then you are able to make the decision that makes you the happiest

On the contrary, she is very modest. She is saying if I am successful I'll make it. She isn't saying she will make it regardless

She also wants to stay happy
