For comparison purposes, the fastest time from the first session on Friday last year was a 1:11.354 by Rubens Barrichello

Just over 20 minutes into the session and de la Rosa is fastest ahead of Zonta, Speed, Doornbos and Monteiro.

After struggling for the last 2 laps Karthikeyan improves into 5th and sets a 1:15.976
