To you..its uncontrolled...........to me, its pristine piloting....Julian Mayo wrote:Its actually referred to as "uncontrolled descent"...."freefall"....and "deathspin"<T-K> wrote:Kapel wrote:Like the spiral straw for the cocktails at the bar, is it?

Re: My new idea...
I know I'm late on this, but I think this is a good idea, but it will not be fool proof. Some drivers will simply ignore it.<T-K> wrote:Have a blue light on the dashboard/steering wheel inside every car and so when a leader(or front running car) comes to within 2secs behind a slower car the light should go on, telling the driver that a faster car is behind them and about to lap you so pull over. They have the technology to do it and no one can complain because it will be the same for everyone.![]()
Good idea or not?
Personally, I believe it is the job of the following driver to set up and make the pass regardless of the details. If a driver is getting lapped, that driver more than likely is going slower than the frontrunners [although not always]. they must be aware of the leader trying to get by, but I believe their is too much whining about backmarkers slowing up the leaders. Hello, isn't that part of the sport just like if an umpire make the occasional bad call?

You are quite right, some drivers may simply ignore it, and it would be possible to implement some sort of penalty for not moving over........
Like you say about it being the job of the frontrunner......true.......but you must admit, that the new generation of F1 drivers are not like in previous years...they want everything handed to them on a silver platter.....they dont want to fight for a position if its not worth it...they want the other guy to move out of their way......
Re: My new idea...
This is true, and it irks me. Fernando Alonso, Schuey, Senna, Hakkinen, Hill, and the other "real" champions didn't waste time complaining. They just got on with it.<T-K> wrote:you must admit, that the new generation of F1 drivers are not like in previous years...they want everything handed to them on a silver platter.....they dont want to fight for a position if its not worth it...they want the other guy to move out of their way......

Personally I wouldnt put Alonso into the same category, he was after all the one b1tching about blue flags..........Shuey, yes....in the past, but lately he has changed his attitude, become more of a "modern" F1 driver.... the role of being an F1 driver has changed forever......
