JacFan, thanks but I must stress again that it is a pleasure to be there. It is in no way interfering with my life
Or my spelling  Hence the edit. 8)
Which wasn't posted as an edit
Or that time  Ahah, perhaps there is a "Window" edit, in which, if an edit is made, it doesn't appear as an edit  Ed :?:

From the day we setup these forums we decided that posts that have been replied to cannot be edited. A time window doesn't work as sometimes people reply as soon as a post is made.
Allowing someone to edit a post after it has been replied can cause major issues between members.
Only moderators can edit other members posts in the forum they are moderating. The editing feature is only intended to be used for removing posts or parts of a post that isn't allowed. It isn't intended to be used for any other purpose.
Modertators are allowed to edit their own posts as they may need to update certain posts (Championship table for example). All our moderators don't abuse their powers and I haven't seen any case of that, be it mlittle, Julian, <T-K> (or myself!), none have edited a post to change its meaning.
I believe Julian edited his post to clarify and it seems to have been misunderstood by JayVee and that is why editing posts after a reply isn't allowed for members and should be used with extreme caution by moderators.

There is a Preview button next to the Submit button , it should be used more often perhaps

The forums are running a bit slow for some reason

If after you submit a post the browser times out, it sometimes does get posted. Use the back button, copy your post (CTRL - C) just in case and go back again and do a refresh. Your post could already be there!!

We'll clean up all the double posts!

I didn't notice a slowdown. Maybe it was just a temporary problem. As for the preview button: neat idea of course but given that the only meaning of button for most people here is Jenson Button, you will be cleaning up double posts for aeons to come :)

Yes I did notice that earlier today. I just removed the second one myself.

Thanks for reminding us all of the "preview" button. I use it sometimes but probably not enough... although I try to edit what I say as I type it.

Sometimes I wish I had an "edit" button for my life. Then I could erase all the stupid things I say and do.

An UNDO button would be very welcome in my case. Also maybe a SYSTEM RESTORE :)
