I believe Alonso would be winning races right now if he were in the McLaren. Kimi and PDLR are showing that the McLaren has plenty of pace. I believe Alonso makes the difference. No one else has won a WC in a Ferrari or a Renault or a McLaren except for the ones that have in the last 10 years. All have had competent teammates who didn't get it done.

Tis hard to win a race parked in the support race pit lane, because the engine went 'splutter, blurp, splutter, chug, splutter, phut".

It's hard to really decide on who did deserve drive of the day. This race was one of the most exciting to watch due to the changing conditions and a lot of drivers showed brilliance at different stages through the event.

1. Fernando Alonso. Streeted the field before the first stop and looked unstoppable. Came back brilliantly after his second stop to almost catch Michael at the finish.

2. Michael Schumacher. Not the fastest car on the day but the most consistant. Made all the right tactical decisions and came away with the win.

3. Jenson Button. Finished in a flurry. Saw that there was a chance to improve his position near the end of the race and took it. The rest of the race was typical "Ho Hum".

4. Robert Kubica. Continues to amaze with his skill in a car that was previously uncompetitive. It was a shame he changed to 'slicks' too early as it ruined his race.

5. Nick Heidfeld. Kept out of trouble and did the job. Probably one of his best drives to date.

6. Mark Webber. Looped the car once but the conditions, while not quite suited his tyres, suited his driving style.

So my vote goes to ................

Also Doornbos seems to be a better choice than Klien. Only one race is not enough to reach a verdict of course...
