There was a problem particularly with posting, it was timing out when submitting a post, by hitting the back button and clicking submit again, a double post results.gkaytaz wrote:I didn't notice a slowdown. If after you submit a post the browser times out, it sometimes does get posted. Use the back button, copy your post (CTRL - C) just in case and go back again and do a refresh. Your post could already be there!!
We'll clean up all the double posts!
I know a couple of people that make me wish that they would come with a "mute" button and a "make sense" button... Oh and of course a "please crawl back under your rock of mediocrity" button.Julian Mayo wrote:People tend to reboot me a lotgkaytaz wrote:An UNDO button would be very welcome in my case. I'd like to sneak around the back n place half a stick under those rocks.gkaytaz wrote:I know a couple of people that make me wish that they would come with a "mute" button and a "make sense" button... That delay was giving me anxiety twitches during the Bathurst coverage Ed.......it was getting up towards the minute mark.....then the windstorm hit....all my screens went blank.......they heard my gut wrenching wail of despair in the next CountyTim wrote:There was a problem particularly with posting, it was timing out when submitting a post, by hitting the back button and clicking submit again, a double post results.gkaytaz wrote:I didn't notice a slowdown. We have carried out online table optimisation on the heavily populated tables and hopefully it solved that problem.
Yeah. Sometimes I even amaze myself with my ability of sticking to the topicJulian Mayo wrote:

I have an "autosound whitenoise button", it blanks out those who are in need of muting.............and of course this all came about cos of Jensen, so we are not![]()
I don't want to argue with you Ed as I have made it clear that my post to Julian was final and this reply is only to put my point across to you Ed and I would have made it as a PM but you chose to make your explanation public.Ed wrote:From the day we setup these forums we decided that posts that have been replied to cannot be edited. We all make mistakes/typos sometimes and to be able to go back and fix them is great. Wish I could do it sometimes.
Or my spellingHence the edit.
Which wasn't posted as an edit
Or that timeAhah, perhaps there is a "Window" edit, in which, if an edit is made, it doesn't appear as an edit
Ed
Allowing someone to edit a post after it has been replied can cause major issues between members.
Only moderators can edit other members posts in the forum they are moderating. The editing feature is only intended to be used for removing posts or parts of a post that isn't allowed. It isn't intended to be used for any other purpose.
Modertators are allowed to edit their own posts as they may need to update certain posts (Championship table for example). All our moderators don't abuse their powers and I haven't seen any case of that, be it mlittle, Julian, <T-K> (or myself!), none have edited a post to change its meaning.
I believe Julian edited his post to clarify and it seems to have been misunderstood by JayVee and that is why editing posts after a reply isn't allowed for members and should be used with extreme caution by moderators.
There is a Preview button next to the Submit button , it should be used more often perhaps

With all due respect Ed, a moderator should - by the nature of their task -be more responsible and clarify what they do when it comes to editing posts. It is common that moderators state they have edited a post and explain why. I didn't have to find out by myself for you or Julian to then explain.
By the same token, a moderator shouldn't be making funny/ridiculous statements on one driver yet claim "still getting over other peoples major misfortunes" when a normal member makes a normal comment on Webber.
The forum doesn't become a fun place when one members due to their status behaves above the rules.
The amount of talk about a Pacific Grand Prix in 2008 makes one feel that Suzuka will be back very soon. Perhaps just a one year absence.gkaytaz wrote:So, you guys think Suzuka will be back in the F1 calendar soonIf there is a signature campaign please let us know. Should we start one?
