Fisichella finishes 5th and sets the fastest lap of the race on his final lap (what for ?)
Webber is 6th with Montoya in 7th and David Coulthard in 8th!

Rubens Barrichello finishes 9th ahead of Heidfeld.

Massa is classified in 11th even though he stopped on the track with Monteiro and Karthikeyan in 12th and 13th.

Retirements: Villeneuve, M Schumacher, Albers, Friesacher and Liuzzi

Hi guyz, this is my 1st post!!!

I won the Spainish GP in the league thing. I think Kimi really deserved his win there, especially after what happend in San Marino.

With Monaco coming up its going to be very, very hard to predict. But I think it will be some where along these lines.

Pole: Kimi or Fisichella
1st: Raikkonen
2nd: Fisichella
3rd: Trulli
4th: Alonso
5th: Montoya
6th: Ralf
7th: Webber
8th: DC

Very unlikely for Michael to miss out on a podium in Monaco, let alone finish outside the points. Dont overestimate his retirement in Barcelona, he probably again had the quickest car in the second part of the race and was well on his way to finish 2nd... :D

Im not trying to be too optimistic about FERRARI anymore but they are still a force to be reckoned with, and Bridgestone know how to turn things around as well :shock:

Qualifying however will mean a lot and the japanese rubber needs to be quicker on one lap :roll:

I certainly agree with Greyhound. Kimi looked very like he was on rails in Spain and I believe the tyres were an important aid to him. But remember Fernando was on Michelin's as well ... and he never (and I mean NEVER) challenged the Merc/Mac. So if Ron D has at last recovered from the distractions of building an F1 Palace and the folks who build the "badged" merc engines have recovered from the tragic death of one of the founders some years back, well then Toyota's "grunt" in the engine compartment and Ferrari and Renault's aero skills won't mean much of anything in the points dept.

It will be fun to see if Kimi can build on this. Monaco, of course, will be all about qualifying. Even the Iceman, (heck, even Michael!) will have a hard time overtaking on the old city streets. But Nurburgring is home turf for Mercs and Montreal and Indy will both be good places for MacLaren to stick it back to Ferrari for past years of embarrassment. As the season wears on I expect to see Renault (and Fernando) fade and Ferrari begin to claw back. The wild card will be the Toyota team.

Only one thing seems odd to me. What happened to JPM? It looked to me like he might as well be teamed up with poor old D.C. for all the good the Merc/Mac was doing him!

Somebody who follows JPM please enlighten me.

Oh yes. one final note. Wasn't the Webbo a sort of disappointment? and he didn't even have the "tennis accident" defense.

I don't like to excuse drivers, but you aks, so... I'll just enumerate some possible reasons for JPM not being the expected, yet.

1.he's had only 3 races with McLaren.(the 3rd with a painful shoulder)
2.In Spain all went wrong for him... 1st out in Qualif1, Trulli blocked him in the start(i'd jumped to 4th but Trulli put him on the grassa dn JPM went back to 8th...), later the ring failed in the pitstop and had to do an extra pitstop. His shoulder still hurt. "My shoulder was good but it was tough particularly at turns three and nine and the last two corners where you pull a lot of Gs." said after the race.

Now. He won at Monaco in 2003... I expect him to be a lot better here (in comparison to Kimi) then at Barca. and so in future races...
(i mean will get closer to Kimi). I predict he'd outpace at least twice Kimi before June ends. and after that it will be a bloody fight!!! 8)

Its a nice article Sgd especially as Schumi doesnt talk about the wooden wedge or sand bagging stuff.

Monaco-Will be interesting in qualifying,but expect a boring race,unless a mid race charge from Michael with pit strategy & Montoya brilliant & daring move over Alonso at the swimming pool complex :wink:

Hope to see some cars in the barriers,engine blow(BBQ) in the tunnel & a bit of rain would certainly spice up things :wink:

Bridgestone has announced that Schueys first tyre failure was caused by the carcass of the tyre being weakened by the safety car period (laps 1-3 )!
Seems to me Bridgestones can't cope with high or low speeds, then! :twisted:

Bridgestone cant cope with any kind of "SPEED" in high temperatures. :twisted:

yeah, is strange. also a F1 tyre must be able to go at pace-car pace, it can happen in every circuit and more than just once... :?

nah, just the only one driven by the ONE person who seemingly did not know how to keep station behind the pace car. Maybe it was his first time behind the pace car when he was not leading :crush: :cheers: :up:
