Re Ferrari's situation: far out man.....that is totally ridiculous. Kappy, are you going to defend what they're doing this time? I think we'll end up seeing Massa rolling his car around everywhere because he's too used to driving the V10! Maybe he can take out MS and Sato at the same time when the two Ferraris try to lap him.

Yes i will defend!
First tld decide,if u consider Massa a Formula Nippon driver(no offence to anyone) or a Formula 1 driver??With 2 years in F1 racing & 1 yr in testing,i surely think he's an F1 driver. N an F1 driver usually should adjust to new car quiet quickly. He's anyway driving a regulated V10 in F2004,which is the platform for 248.Not identical but quiet similar.(Also cos F2005 was crap & tyre changing is back)
He has tested the new car a few times,(
JayVee will give u the figures,So sweet ,she's keeping the count. Thanks JayVee) yes not as many times as Michael.Which i would also say its a little unfair.
But if you think he's some lame driver who would just roll over in races cos he's not used the 248 cos he's hardly tested it,i would say then y give him the new car, which is unreliable at the moment just to learn how it behaves? Is he Valentino Rossi who wants to try things out cos its his hobby?
I'm sure,N i shall be happy to see Michael test the new car more than Massa, for the simple reason that at this moment Ferrari needs their best driver to solve their reliability issue rather than give it to Massa to learn.
N what difference would it make to Massa not knowing the car if the car is unreliable in races,it will anyway blow up.
Massa i think has been doing good testing in terms of tyres ,brakes & electronics.
Don worry tld,he'll be fine

Kappy, call me Tap, man. tld are my initials.
Look, I'm a sportsman too. And I can tell you, if I was to use an old model of some equipment (in my case, a badminton racquet) for much longer than the new one (Ed, how many days has he been in the F2004?), and only 4 days with the new equipment, I certainly will NOT be used to using the new one!
Seriously man, testing is one thing. Getting used to the car is another. Sorry, maybe I'm getting a little afield here. Can someone clarify why Ferrari have only ONE 248 in testing whereas all the other top teams have TWO? Or do they seriously want Massa to test the F2004?
I don't know man. If Massa is serious about his own career, being in a back seat isn't going to get him very far, or earn the respect or appraise other teams/principals either.
IMHO

I remember everyone in this forum where predicting Toyota to be one of the front runners, but no sign now!!!
I know Ralf is there, but have they gone backwards??
Kappy I posted sometime back that Toyota are having difficulty matching the chassis to the bridgestone tyres, I believe that is why they have snuck off on their own,......or to get as much info from a different track, and pool it with Williams and ferrari......geez, there is a thought.

I suppose in the off season its inevitable that people have go nothing better to do than sit in front of their computers and Massa debate.
I think Schumi should be admired for the amount of testing he does, his commitment to his team is unsurpassed by any other driver on the grid, and somehow this is turned into a minus.
And don?t forget the F2004 was a very, very successful car. Ferrari probably have very good reasons for running it back to back with the 248, which doesn?t seem to be standing out in testing, but if I remember rightly, neither did the F2004.

All the reported stoppages are on the track. Reasons unavailable at this stage.
Alonso fastest now with a 1:16.310 half a second ahead of Fisichella.
Conditions are sunny, air temp 12 and track temp 20

I moved a few posts relating to the testing in Bahrain to this thread

I dont see much discussion on Bahrain testing here, just see Michael's bashing or making of a rebel in Massa

We like to keep discussions relating to the testing on this thread. There was a post on Bahrain then a reply relating to Barcelona and hence they were moved.
On the issue of bashing, if there is a post where you feel a driver is being bashed, PM me and we'll look at it.
What if a forum contributor is being bashed, daily
