what I posted was from an article in todays Melbourne Age, sports section I think. Sorry to sound a bit vague but I read half a dozen on-line papers today.Lloyd wrote:I see that MW has been voted off the GP drivers association.
They feel 4 is one too many?

Ed,
What's the latest with the weather - is a wet race still a possibility?
Secondly, If two cars set an identical time in qualifying, which car starts highest on the grid? I know in the past (before single lap qualifying) priority was given to the driver who set the time first - is this still the case?
Thanks

The latest weather forecast from Sao Paulo indicates a 40% chance of rain during the race.Jupiter wrote:Ed,

Qualifying is set to run under sunny skies though!
Regarding qualifying, yes a driver has to better the time of a competitor to qualify in front.
From the Sporting Regulations (article 129)
The grid will be drawn up in the order of the fastest time achieved on the track by each driver. If two or more drivers set identical times priority will be given to the one who set it first.

Pole setter Fernando Alonso said:
3rd on the grid Giancarlo Fisichella said:So far so good, I think. But this is only the starting point, we know tomorrow is a long race with 71 laps, so I will try and finish the job. The team has done a fantastic job in the past few weeks to carry on developing the car and engine, and this is the result: it is working well, and Fisi and I are on the front two rows. At the last few races we were not able to fight with McLaren, but here I think we have a better chance. Looking ahead, we are aiming to get on the podium at every one of the last races ? not just here. But if we can do it tomorrow, then it will be very good for the championship!
Honestly, I didn't expect to be here: the circuit conditions were not so good at the start of the session, and the grip levels were definitely a bit low. Here in Interlagos, this really hurts you in the second sector, and that's where I lost some time to the others. Our target for the last races has been to be in the top three, and to carry on scoring lots of points. I am optimistic for tomorrow, because we have a good pace on the long runs, so I think Fernando and I can get a strong result for both championships.
2nd on the grid Juan Pablo Montoya said:
Team-mate Kimi Raikkonen will start from 5th, he said:An OK lap until the last corner really. I put the throttle down and all of a sudden there was just no grip, and this probably cost me about two tenths of a second. It's frustrating, but that is what happens at this track where the conditions are changing continuously. However, I'm really confident for the race as during practice this morning we found a strong set-up and our package should be working really well, but I would have liked to be on pole though
That was a shame. I came into the first corner and simply locked up and lost about 0.7 seconds. I pushed hard for the rest of the lap, but that sort of thing does upset your rhythm a bit. However, I did what I could to make up for the mistake, and I believe that without that I could have been on pole tomorrow. I now focus on the race where anything is possible. We will just go for it and do what we can. Our strategy should be strong so we will see

Insert Alonso boast here>>>>>> ........................................
.Alonso is god
Alonso is the best driver everywhere.in the world ever, and always will be........................................................................................
.Alonso is a hunk
Iwant to have Alonso's babies
Why do the other drivers even bother turning up?
Alonso will win the next 1,078,000 WDC titles
Webber should stick to walking
Webber can't drive
Anybody who ever sat in a pedal-car is better than Webber.
Alonso won't need a team-mate next year, he is going to drive both cars at the same time, and tie the WDC.
Alonso can win races, and WDC titles without leaving the hotel.
Alonso can win titles starting 3 laps behind at every race, on a lambreda, and carrying a pillion passenger.
Alonso will save America from Hurricane Rita.
Alonso for President of The World, The Galaxy and Everywhere else
[b]There is more but I am suddenly feeling a bit bilious

Will the Terrigal Pub do, to collect your 3 G&Ts?

Sorry but I can't edit your post
But there is no need to boast is there ?
Alonso The Cute on Pole ahead of the two McLarens.
Where is Kimi ? Why is he there ? Are you sure it isn't because of an engine change ! Are you sure, no you can't be serious
Alonso The Cute what ? He fluked it ? Nah you're not serious
