Unless Newey has lost his marbles and produces a complete dog,I seriously doubt we will see Webbo in a Renault (JayVee wrote:I love to see close battles and if that is between Alonso and Webber then all the better. As long as we have fair racing on track and fair team tactics then I will enjoy it.jacfan wrote:I for one would love to see Webber get his chance to show us all what he can do.JayVee wrote:
Newey is one of the best out there but sometimes he goes overboard. I recall the McLaren that never raced or did it race once.
But I hope that this one is a good car that gives Webber a real chance to shine!Beep beep... move over Alonso...
But it is serious crystal ball gazing. First Webber has to be outstanding in the RBR so he jumps into the Renault then he has to be outstanding there to be close to Alonso(Assuming of course that Alonso remains outstanding but that is a given to me
)
Sorry but we couldn't find similar shots of both cars with their features highlighted. The closest is this:JayVee wrote:On the car, doesn't it look like a McLaren copy ? The nose, the sidepods ? Huh Huh ? But the mirrors are Ferrari's cheeky Newey![]()
A Renault powered McLaren clone mirrored by FerrariInteresting
Side by side photos Ed please ?
Guess the faith in Newey went a tad too farEd wrote:On the subject of how strong can the Red Bull car be, I would say a top 5 finish would be the best they could hope for in 2007 and it will be very very difficult for them to move up further in the following years.
They have a good team for sure but they are not in the same league as the top 3 and then there is Honda, BMW and Toyota. If they can mix regularly with those then they would have done a fantastic job.
On the subject of Webber, if his aim is to win races and fight for the World Championship (which is what any good driver would aim for), then he sees Red Bull as a jumping board to kick start his career and move quickly to a top team to acheive those aims.
A move to Renault must be his target. I can't see him staying at Red Bull for too long.
Ahah, stimulated by the discussion, enough to join in, huh?Ed wrote:On the subject of how strong can the Red Bull car be, I would say a top 5 finish would be the best they could hope for in 2007 and it will be very very difficult for them to move up further in the following years.

Sato's still on that grid. As is RosbergJulian Mayo wrote:In the world of F!, dominated by human error, as it is, 2 accidents off the grid, removing both of the team cars from the results, eg Nico on Webber twice last year(not a top team, but I am sure you understand what I am saying),
and RB or Honda, or BMW could challenge for the 3 spot........imho.
Possibilities.....Massa n Kimi
Fisi n Kovi
Alonso n HH(unpronouncable)
Young Guns are scary

Ed, shhh, they will start to realize it's true about Webbo in a Renault n the odds will go downEd wrote:You could say putting a realistic spin on thingsJulian Mayo wrote:Ahah, stimulated by the discussion, enough to join in, huh?Ed wrote:On the subject of how strong can the Red Bull car be, I would say a top 5 finish would be the best they could hope for in 2007 and it will be very very difficult for them to move up further in the following years.

So, we gotta wait for Fisi to get the boot...Julian Mayo wrote:We will have to get Murray Walker back to call Webbo in the Renault for his first win!! ( I pronounce Renault as Reno)
