I guess the slower teams should pull their finger out then.

The twenty minutes stops the teams waiting till the last minute to qualify. You are almost gauranteed that someone will be on the track all the time. Better for the fans.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Two things you've said in your post to Kapel:
grandprixdiary wrote:Two, NK has done nothing of note, He qualifies exactly where just about anybody would in that car, he then tools around, keeping out of other peoples way and finishes pretty much where he started.
Well if you haven't noticed he has outqualified Monteiro by a massive margin. And if you are talking about the grid position then you are clearly trying to twist the facts. The lap time counts when looking at the ability or lack of in a driver.

As for finishing were he started, well a number of high profile drivers drove for Minardi and Jordan and they have all finished pretty much were they started when you take into account all the cars that retired.

grandprixdiary wrote:This is a rebuilding year for Jordan/Midland and I absolutely guarantee you that Monteiro and NK will not be with the team next year - next stop..Minardi
What arrogance!! Unless you a part of the decision making process at Midland (which I doubt) how could you guarantee such a claim. Then how can you guarantee that Kerthikeyan won't move to Sauber or Red Bull or even a better team ? Ralf and Barrichello did!!

Sorry the only thing you can guarantee is the  look on your face when Karthikeyan re-signs for Jordan or moves forward to a better team.

The shootout is the top ten qualifiers get one lap to get a better or worse position. It only effects the top ten places.

Might have to change a few things like maybe a top six shootout. There are usually about thirty cars on the grid for a V8 race.

There is a similar method being used with the German touring cars I think. Though don't quote me on that.
sounds good but "slow" teams won't acept the 'top-six shootout'... =/
...
thirty cars Q'ing in 20min, that must be tight!
-----

For F1 would be good two sessions of 20 mins all-free with summed
times of the 2 sessions deciding final Q positions. what do you think people?
I like the V8 qual system, its entertaining, and the 1 lappers are screamers

If they gave some points for pole it would put some much needed fire back into qualifying. Might even make more people turn up on Saturday and heaven forbid, some tv coverage.

Maybe they should try a reverse grid every now and then. Now that used to be a spectacle in V8s.

yes, if there's a DOMINANT TEAM/DRIVER, then it's gonna be boring anyway, but in case of close battle (like now) it will be just better!!!

Well he has to start somewhere.

But seriously. Is there anyone on this forum that wouldn't, just once, like to see minardi and jordan dominating the first two rows of the grid.

Tell you what, if he is in F1 next year with anybody better than Minardi then I'll put a huge 'sorry' on the front page of 'Grand Prix Diary'. But it won't happen. He is a pay-driver, and judging by the size of the sponsor logos on the car he doesn't even bring that much money.

Hey Julian,

Wouldnt want to call Rob a racist, its part of his job to make comments on F1 drivers whom he feels are piece of s**t.Thats his journalism.

What upset me was the fact that Rob's timing of this article on this post was wrong ,as every1 one of you have voiced it being unfair to NK at this stage.

Rob,it definitely was a humourous article before Australian GP.

Instead of fighting on this forum, lets wait till end of this season n see where Mr.Rob and his humourous comments leads too.
