The mechanics manage to get to Piquet's car and push it down the pit lane.
He was lucky that whatever his problem was, it happened right before the pit lane entry.

Meanwhile Massa goes fastest!

Raikkonen sets a stunning 1st sector but gets it wrong at the end of the lap and cuts the chicane!

At this stage, the slowest two cars are the 2 Hondas. Barrichello is 19th and Button is 20th with 18 and 15 laps covered respectively!

Halfway into the session and the top 8 are: Raikkonen, Massa, Heidfeld, Hamilton, Kubica, Kovalainen, Rosberg and Vettel.

Alonso can't get the car going and the car is pulled off the track.

Alonso was down in 15th

Glock stops on the track. Looks like he's had a brush with a wall as his rear suspension looks broken!
