As I read it RENAULT still just have the edge over FERRARI, then its maybe MCLAREN...................good performance by TOYOTA, SAUBER and REDBULL.

WILLIAMS and Jaques are the disappointments so far, hope for them it wont last the season.

Fernando and Michael will battle it out for pole

To be honest I am finding it hard to read much into the times of today

By the looks of it McLaren look strong, Renault didn't do much running
BAR and Toyota seem to be more suited to this track than Melbourne.
Ferrari are struggling. Why would Michael do so many laps even on old tyres unless they aren't happy with something.

We'll know a lot more tomorrow and I hope it stays dry

Graham, why MCLAREN? Ok they dont look bad either but RENAULT were extremely reluctant to do any clocking at all but were fast immediately.

The free1 is always more telling in terms of raw speed, and the FERRARI was right there, and sorry Graham, in front of MCLAREN...........

Good to see the pace potential of the TOYOTA once again, can they take it through a race? REDBULL very decent again, SAUBER ended in front of free2 as Felipe produced a qualifying lap, might make the top ten on the grid.

BAR have definitely reserves, maybe WILLIAMS too

And the pole time is ....

1:33.126 - Alonso

Told you guys, Pole time will be a lot under 1:34

Tomorrow will be interesting with a 1-2 Renault and the top 6 Michelin runners :burnout:

I'm starting to get worried about JV

I think that Reanault are the favorites to win again this weekend. Closely followed byMcLaren and Ferrari. The odd incident will decide who comes closer to Renault.

BAR and Toyota have grunt, power but not race-stamina. Their cars are designed poorly and eat away their tires. With the new rules, that is the worst ailment a car can have this season.

Williams are stronger than Red Bull, but only by a fraction and the qualifying could decide who will be best.

Agree on the Renault. They seem confident not to do any running just like Ferrari were last year! but then they maybe just worried about their engines

Free 1 may have given us some indication last year but this year they barely do any running. Montoya did 5 laps while Michael did 13. That would be 2 flying laps for Montoya and he was 0.6 behind Michael. Not conclusive to say he is slower.

What is interesting is that Michael's time from Free 1 in 04 was 1:34.437 and nearly a second faster than Barrichello and this year he was 1:36.011
You can reach your own conclusions but I tell you they ain't as fast as you think

I never say no to bets even though I'll end up broke come midseason paying so many people in so many currencies. Don't tell me you want to bet in Korunys

A Ferrari in the top 6, lets see, Alonso, Fisichella, Montoya, Raikkonen, Button and Webber (just to keep julian happy so he can lend me some money to pay!!), no way a Ferrari will be in the top 6

Ok 5 Korunys :rolling: :ROTFLMAO: :burnout:

I don't like this odd business, too complicated for my simple mind

Lets see 100 - 1 isn't that like no chance ? so you give me 5 Kč and if a Ferrari is in the top 6 I pay you 500 Kč right ?

You must be kidding. I don't have that much money

If you want to use these odd then 5 Turkish Liras :drink: :ROTFLMAO:  :alright: :crush:
