The team will not be appealing the Court of Appeal decision
More details soon.![]()
Quite suprised!!!What do they gotta los if they appeal???or can there be any serious implication than what is now if they lose the case??
Here is an extract from their statement. We will be publishing the whole statement shortly
B?A?R Honda has looked at all practical ways of immediately challenging the decision. The central issue is one of jurisdiction. Jurisdiction in Europe is governed by European-wide rules, which say that a defendant party has a right to be sued in the territory in which it is based. Upon receiving the best legal advice in all relevant jurisdictions, the conclusion is that nothing can be done to enable the team to race this weekend.
B?A?R Honda has considered whether to pursue further action which might enable it to compete at Monaco. On balance, the team has decided that to challenge the sport's governing body would cause a level of disruption and damage to the sport which would not serve the best interests of everyone involved. B?A?R Honda will be discussing the ramifications of the Court of Appeal verdict with the other teams and manufacturers involved in the sport.

From FIA:
"While the weekend was a disaster for BAR, it didn’t get off to a great start for Nick Heidfeld and Williams, either. Inspection showed that his BMW P84/5 engine, which was used in Imola, has a defective exhaust valve. Accordingly Williams have had to change the engine for one of the same latest specification that team-mate Mark Webber is scheduled to use. As a consequence, Heidfeld will do all of the set-up running today and will, of course, get a 10 grid-place penalty after qualifying. Webber, meanwhile, will not participate in either of today’s sessions"
