Jason Richards has gone to a low wing set up to gain more speed thru the third sector, which is 70% full throttle. That is going to make the car very twitchy across the top of the Mountain !!!

The front runners are circulating in the low 08s, which suggests that will be the race pace.
Some are now doing fuel runs to measure economy, or lack of.
The car set ups have to encompass full to empty to full tanks throughout the race. On a track that has every imginable corner that is no mean feat.

With 10 mniutes to go the track appears to be dry in most places. Because it is a mountain there will be residual run off in some places for some time
.
The shootout may be delayed.
Shannon O'Brien in the Porsche Cup Porsche Carrera entered the Chase at 280kmh. He exited via a massive rollover and nose spin before hitting the wall and coming to rest back on the track. He is ok, but it will take some time to clear the debris and fluid.
