Ferrari need to come from Imola with atleast10-12 points,if they r to stay in contention.

Let see, I don't think more than 20 cars will make things much more interesting. It would be better if the 20 cars are closely matched!K-D wrote:F1 needs a full grid, the current 20 cars is not enough. In addition F1 needs diversity in winners both between drivers, teams and manufacturers. However the setup under which f1 is fought out does not make it possible to agree on this.
A list (litany??) of problems:
1) No overtaking
2) To few winners
3) One team dominates
Ad. 1) ? The aerodynamic grip of the cars are close to insane, and the ?dirty? air behind the cars mean that a substancially faster car can not overtake. In addition the carbon brakes, have the cars stopping in breaking distances which defy logic ? go to see a race live, and the first time they power past you think that they will obviously crash and never make the turn.
A fairly easy way to change this is to reduce aero-grip substancially. Look at the cars and they have sprouted winglets all over the car. Ban all of them, give the teams two wings. One in front and one at the rear, with a fixed area in ?x? number of square centimetres. Then let them make which ever type of wing they want, as many tiers as they want, but they can not exceed the total area. All other wings are gone (note to rule makers, kindly formulate in clear and uncertain terms what a wing, winglet and aerodynamic devise is). Whatever decrease in aero-grip that is agreed as the preferable will deem the allowed total size of the wings. If the designers claw back to much, the aere is reduced.
Ban carbon brakes. They have no business in the world outside Autoracing, and regardless of often stated claims that there is no difference between them and steel brakes, no team has run a race with steel-brakes for +15 years.
The reduced aero, and poorer brakes will make for longer braking distances making for more overtaking.
Water and sweep the track every morning before a practise and race. A ?fleet? of sweepers can clean the track in at most a couple of hours. The intention to make the track as green as possible, and remove all the leftover marbles, so it is no longer only possible to can go really fast on the racing line.
Ban pitstops!!! ? You start and finish the race with all the fuel and tires needed. This will also induce more overtaking.
I understand that Ferrari is standing alone against the other 9 teams, but I do not agree that then make them the ones standing against progress. You can make the same argument about the group of nine, who have on occasion not invited Ferrari, and on occasion not shown at meetings called by the international federation.
