The worry with the softer compound is how long it can last. They are only at their optimum for a few laps it seems

Yeah but you would think that at its optimum it would be quicker than the prime but it seldom is these days.

And what's this business with shooting into the pit lane then driving to the end and waiting for 10 or so seconds before going out again?

The softer compound is almost always used in the second run in Q3 so it has to be faster but doesn't last as long.

I thought they are just practicing starts ?

BMW looks like it is being caught by the midfield pack, that is going to dissapoint Mr Kubica. :roll:

Kovalainen has improved but remains in 4th.

Massa sets the fastest 1st sector but doesn't improve overall

It's possible they are just cooling the tyres and making sure they avoid causing an accident . . .

I suppose they have to play about with fuel loads quite a lot to keep the other guy guessing. But having said that they always seem to know exactlly how much fuel lthey need to put in to have a shot at pole on a Saturday afternoon . . . :roll:

That was a rabbit out ot the hat lap by Lewis wasn't it?
