Re: The 2022 US Grand Prix Thread
This weekend we return to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. This is also the first event in the double header with Mexico to follow.
It seems that at this event, many drivers let their hair down and have some fun mixing with the locals. A fun time is had by all.
What to expect?
Now that Max has his WDC handed to him, the pressure is on to secure the teams championship.
Given the Ferrari just can't get their strategy right and Mercedes have this season been the third best in qualifying, I really can't see anyone stopping the inevitable.
The battle of the next best is appealing with Alpine again having the upper hand over McLaren and AlphaTauri. If only Daniel Ricciardo can again show the form we know that he has.
You never know which Aston Martin is going to show up and Alfa Romeo, after starting the season with a bang, have fallen back into the realm of the also rans.
Haas may surprise give that it is one of their home grand prix and Williams, through their US owners Dorilton Capital, may also have something to show for their efforts.
I'm interested to see how it all pans out.

FP1 Results
Antonio Giovinazzi didn't help his chances of getting a drive in 2023 by only completing 4 timed laps before putting his Haas into the barriers and bringing out the only red flag for the session. He eventually drove away but damage was sustained ending his session.
Rookie drivers Robert Shwartzman, Alex Palou, Theo Pourchaire and Logan Sargeant took part in the session.
