Esteban Ocon had a water pressure problem and missed basically the whole first session.
Yuki Tsunoda will be starting at rear of grid after taking multiple power unit components.
Max Verstappen will take a new internal combustion unit and incur a 10 place grid penalty.

The session started out with rain.
Drivers ventured out and, after about 12 minutes, Lance Stroll had a spin exiting Eau Rouge and hit the inside barrier in Raidillon. He is unhurt however his Aston Martin had damage to the left front corner. This brought out the red flag and it stayed out until 2 minutes remained in the session. Some drivers ventured out and some of these performed wet tyre practice starts.

George Russell took the chequered flag first however, in post race scrutineering, his car came in underweight. He was subsequently disqualified losing his win.
