Kimi Antonelli's debut in FP1 was short lived. He was initially fastest however, entering the Parabolica, the rear of his Mercedes stepped out and he spun across the gravel and into the barrier. This corner did prove difficult throughout the session and many others had the same problem but without the same result. We live, we learn.

Kevin Magnussen had a similar problem as Kimi Antonelli did in FP1.
Magnussen's Haas stepped out entering Lesmo 2 and he spun across the gravel and went nose first into the tyre barrier. Red flags were brought out and drivers lost near 10 minutes of the session. Damage didn't seem too bad with damage limited to the front wing and probably the left front corner.

Kevin Magnussen's Haas stopped on the circuit on the cool down lap at the end of the session. The team audio seemed insistent that the car be shut down.
