Not sure what you mean here Julian ? Sauber are in Valencia and their best time on Tuesday was over 4 seconds slower than the best time in 05 in a V10.

The 1st report I saw had the Toyota faster than the McK V10 at Jerez. PDLR has now gone faster.

You are quick to jump to conclusions on Villeneuve. The new car has just come out so give it some time before you make a judgement

While I think Nick is a very, very, good pilot, if Jacques it to keep his seat he has to best Nick at EVERY outing. He has to grind his face in it every time they are on the same track. JV, I like Jacques' personality, I find him a refreshing character, and I think he is a quick driver by F1 standards. I would not however have put him in my top 5 in any season, and I think most would agree that unless he flogs Nick (no easy chore for anyone) he will have difficulty retaining his seat. There is just so much talent sitting just outside the door.

I know Villeneuve is up against a German driver in a German team so it will be hard but Heidfeld will not beat him. And if Villeneuve beats Heidfeld then it will just show how good he is :D

lol, you have been quick to jump to conclusions with everyone else.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Lets hope that JV was running a non competitive car, as Nick was almost a second faster. Similarly Nico had best close the gap to Wurtz pretty quickly or they might find their roles are reversed before the season starts 8)

Jv got to within .2 of a second of Nick when they swapped cars, despite doing 40 laps less.

If you actually compare the times both set in the 06 car, the 2 were very very close (just 0.032 seconds between the two). However the times were set on different days and we don't really know if they had similar fuel loads and so we don't know!.

When they run 2 06 cars, the comparison would be slightly more accurate.

Villeneuve was happy with the new car. He said:
The BMW Sauber F1.06 felt really good. After the first day in a new car you can tell if it will be competitive or not; this one felt fast and I think there is more potential in it than in the C24 last year. That?s very positive.
Overall, I think these three days went well. Normally with a new car you expect quite a few problems, but this test went pretty well, so I?m happy
JayVee will be pleased now
