K-D, in the past I asked you if you were a journalist and you answered that then but let me ask you again not to put words in my mouth please.K-D wrote:We also disagree on hoe easy/difficult it is to win in F1. Chosing to think that MS can only win "because" of the intra-team support, is in my view a denial of what it really takes to win in F1.JayVee wrote:The only reason Michael won the last 5 championships is becuase of a superior car and no team-mate to fight with. Sure it is legal but let me tell you it SUCKS and that is why F1 has lost its appeal. Not the overtaking, not the aerodynamics but Michael and Co and their tactics to win at any cost
I never said "MS can only win "because" of the intra-team support"
I said "The only reason Michael won the last 5 championships is becuase of a superior car and no team-mate to fight with."
Had Michael had a teammate like Mika or Jacques on equal terms, he would have not won 5 championships and NO ONE would be calling Formula 1 boring. (again in my opinion)
In the history of F1, I don't think there was a more dominant car than the McLaren MP4/4 of 1988 which won all the races (OK, the only race they didn't win was the Italian grand prix where Senna led for 49 out of 51 laps only to be punted out by the hopeless Jean-Louis Schlesser)
Yet NO ONE would say 1988 was a boring season, NO ONE came out and said change the rules, and MORE people became interested in F1.
Calling Michael much much better than all the drivers he is racing against is your opinion to which I respectfully competely disagree with and consider it a completely unfair comparison.
I really hope that one day the teams can agree to not only allow competition within a team but to actively promote it. May be I am being optimistic but I am sure it can be done.
