Ed wrote:Testing commenced at Barcelona today (Tuesday). 5 teams are present: McLaren, Williams, Red Bull, MF1 Racing and the new Super Aguri team.

Very few laps have been run so far with only Montoya, Raikkonen and Webber setting reasonably competitive lap times.

Takuma Sato in the Super Aguri has stopped after just 3 laps.

Further updates to follow

Makes sense. Sato was out on track . . . and no-one else!!

Webber's best time was a 1:17.699. Kimi Raikkonen and Tiago Montiero covered the most number of lap with 59.

5 teams were present with 7 drivers setting lap times.

The day started cold but sunny but became wet in the afternoon.

There were several red flags during the session. The 2 Williams, Monteiro and Sato all had stops while Sato also spun in the wet in the afternoon.
Montoya had a transmission problem which kept him in the garage for the afternoon.

Testing continues tomorrow with Renault, Honda and Toyota joining the test.

Full report and times shortly
Ed can we find out what problems the Williams were having?

On the last day of testing in Bahrain, Schuey reverted to the 2004V10. He was not able to match the times set by Massa

Given that the McLaren went boom after 22 laps, He was probably running on 7 cylinders from the 1st lap. What is Denis doing :?

Ferrari concluded testing at Bahrain. Michael drove both the 248 F1 and the F2004. He set the fastest time for a 2006 spec car so far with a 1:30.723 while Massa set the fastest time for any car this year with a 1:29.958.

Ferrari's next test will be at Mugello from the 27th of February.

5 teams were at Barcelona with 3 more teams joining in on Wednesday. Mark Webber was fastest just ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Running was limited due to the weather.

Super Aguri F1 made their official track debut with Sato driving. They struggled with problems on their first day.

Toro Rosso were testing at Imola with Neel Jani. Weather conditions were wet. The BMW Sauber team joins them tomorrow.

But it is the new car they will race in Julian. That is what I mean by the massive advantage Michael has.

In the old car Massa is faster but with only 4 days in the new car he'll have a difficult task.

It is all part of the brainwashing exercise at Ferrari. I just hope Massa The Rebel has the right antidote :D :D
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

ahhhhh, perchance to dream. Massa WILL do as he is told
Ferrari must be asking Max if it is too late to nominate the V10, and Schuey will be ordering them not to, because he can blame his forthcoming season on the V8. (and Massa is faster in the 10) 8)

So far he is

Michael breaks the new car so they tell Massa to stop testing and let Michael test the old car. That must be demoralising

But I am telling you, he will be The Rebel

Sadly, if he did he would be off contract before his helmet was off, and no other team would touch him

In that case, he will also be unemployed.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.
