My second guess......Dan Gurney.

- I am not from South America either
- I became the youngest driver to win a race (at the time)
- Even though I won a number of races, I never managed to get Pole position
- I was killed in a crash during testing
- I raced for my own team, a team that remains to this day
I am Bruce McLaren.
Well done Southernman, you got it on the second attempt.
The next 'Who Am I' within 24 hours.
So far our leaderboard is:
jacfan - 4
cmlean - 2
Southernman - 2
