It was announced over the weekend that the 2007 Australian Grand Prix will take place between the 15th and 18th of March subject to confirmation by the FIA.
It was also announced that the race will be the first of the 2007 F1 season despite strong pressure from Bahrain.
It was also announced that the V8 Supercars support races will not take place as there is only 1 week between this event and the event in Perth. The V8 organisers had hoped the Australian Grand Prix would be held a week earlier.
Of course there is the issue of TV coverage as 7 have the coverage rights for the V8's while 10 has the coverage for F1 and that may have been a factor as well!
