Williams to use Cosworth Engines in '06 (Confirmed)

Post by Julian Mayo » Mon Mar 28, 2005 8:36 am

In an interview yesterday, Sunday, Mark Webber said that Williams had found 15 seconds a race, due to new aero and other modifications. Do the maths fellas!! :bounce: :bouncey: :bouncec:

Good news!! that would make tha race even better!! ...
But he can talk as much as he wants, the important here is to show! if that's truth and all other teams have not improve, so they'll be fighting with Renault in the front.... let's see... :soon: :alright:

I dont think Webber, with little financial backing, got where he is by being a liar

Sorry julian but I've done the maths, if a race is 60 laps that means 0.25 seconds a lap  and that doesn't sound much to me

And given the other teams are not sitting still, then the improvement isn't impressive given that Williams did start from behind and claimed they'll improve quickly!

Even if we were to assume that the other teams are standing still, Alonso finished 24 seconds ahead of Trulli in Malaysia and Webber was never a threat to Trulli, do the maths

I'd love to see Webber and Williams do well but I'd much rather be pleasantly surprised rather than be dissapointed

point 25 secs a lap and he was rev restricted in practice and Qual because they were worried, naturally, about the second race on the engine ( unlike BAR  ) at least they are becoming competitive with all but Renault, with, he said," more good stuff going on the car after Bahrain", I'm feeling a strange sensation on my face....wait, it could be.... is it .....yes, the tiniest beginnings of a very tiny smile :TOTW:

Hey mate! i don't want to say that he's a liar! i just say that he has to show the .25secs/lap and get results, and that to say "the car is x secs faster..." is mere rhetoric... ;) :blah: :blah: :crush:    :alright:

Webber[/u] Hey im a ferrari fan cos it's in my blood and i don't mind webber I was karting the other day in webbers birthplace quenbeyen when this guy was saying that he was'nt that quick on the karts. But things can change look where he's at now good on him he has worked his butt off to get to this stage so dont be surprised if he pushs the williams to the extreme limit to get a podium finish pressure is there too i'd be taking any oppurtunnity to prove my talent so don't exclude him this year u learn from your mistakes....All 4 now

Williams are good in race trim. Even in Australia they were good.

But I reckon they are still third behind Renault and McLaren but just ahead of Toyota.

Webber still held the outright lap record at the Melbourne Kart whatever last year when Montoya had a go and did not match it. He can't have been to shoddy in karts
