Michael Schumacher - 7 times World Champion

Post by Ed » Thu Oct 26, 2006 12:51 pm

Michael Schumacher raced in his final race at the 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix.

Here are some of his amazing achievements:

249 Races
154 Podiums
76 Fastest Laps
68 Pole Positions
91 Wins

7 World Championship including 5 in a row

He has 40 wins more than Alain Prost who is second in the most number of wins. (Isn't it interesting that the top 4 figures are: 91 M Schumacher, 51 Prost, 41 Senna and 31 Mansell!!)

He equals Alberto Ascari with the most number of consecutive wins at 7.

He has the record for consecutively finishing in the points (24 races in a row)

He has the record for consecutively finishing on the podium (19 races in a row)

He sure has raised the bar much higher for anyone to get close to some of those records.

Thank you and we wish you all the best in your retirement.

I hope the next generation of drivers are so successful that they will all fight to break these records simultaneously. Formula 1 will then become more enjoyable for no-fans to watch.

It's kinda spooky when you think about it :light:
:maths: What is the statistical probability?
:compute: It's got to be very improbable indeed :light:
