GPWC SHIFTS UP A GEAR
The Grand Prix World Championship organisation, the manufacturer-led group that is planning to break away from Formula 1, is ramping up its plans for a launch in 2008.
Autosport-Atlas reports that the structures are now in place for the formulation of a framework of rules, with four taskforces having been assigned specific responsibilities for the various elements necessary to get a new series off the ground. .... full article

I think GPWC and Bernie should settle their differences (so perhaps add another option!)
Yes the teams need to have more say but I think an independent organisation should run the series.
The manufacturers come and go so there is a big risk with them running the series. Unless of course GPWC becomes competely independent.
However the current structure is obviously flawed and needs a major overhaul and that includes the financial arrangements as well as the people. The likes of Bernie and Mosely need to go, they've been in the game for too long.
Perhaps the latest deal between Bernie and banks will allow for a settlement with GPWC too.
On the sporting side, I'd like to see more true racing and I think GPWC may be better at that than the current organisers.

I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!
What do you mean?K-D wrote:Set up a poll, make real an sensible choices and I will answer.
The poll is just to see what people think about the GPWC, you can say "Yes it's a good idea, why all the money goes toi bernie and ferrari? it should be equitative. it's bad when each team have to pay ~3Mill to ferrari every year. I hope the GPWC become a reality" or you can say somethiong like "no, I think Bernie is the right man for controling the F1 and he deserves all the money he gets, as ferrari deserves, other teams must r4eceive less money and pay as now. and it's good that even Minardi has to pay ferrari to race as ferrari is the history and is the most important team" or what ever you think... the POLL is about would you like to see the GPWC going after the 07?
or think that te Bernie controled F1-circus is the way to go.
Which could be sensible choices?

I have to vote no to the prospect becuase I fear that a few years down the track the car makers could say," nah, its all too hard" or whatever and leave us up pooh river without a paddle. As long as OL' greedy Bernie or his annointed successor is around, so to will be F1

The Mountain is a savage Mistress.
I dunno if GPWC would be full proof, well organised, without politics, clean racing but all i know is Max Mosely wont be involved
so may it'll be good.
But, as Graham says, what if Renault becomes a dominant team ?will any of the manufacturers take that beating. With manufacturers on board,it'll be difficult to cast down new rules.I dunno one team who would not look out for their own benefits, but will they ever reach a conclusion??
F1 needs a dictator, not Bernie though(he's made his money). The teams deserve more money, but setting rules and stewards decisions( in case of accidents) should be controled independently.Otherwise the dominant team will be favoured again

At the moment the whole issue is but a mere show, a poker game....
The series wont ever be called anything else than F1, GPWC what a name.
It will probably not be without Bernie in 2008, at least he will sell the name F1 and remain in the head of affairs.
There is no general dispute between Bernie and any of the teams, of course the money is the big issue but it will be very easy to reach an agreement. Be it a modified Concorde or totally new.
Of course there wont be any form of F1 without FERRARI unless they retire themselves. People like Ron Dennis or Frank Williams definitely dont want to lose FERRARI as their competitor.
If we got a GPWC like sgd seems to dream about, it will be kind of DTM+ with 4-6 manufacturers, Jesus a bloody nightmare....
sgd, Im interested to learn how much teams like MINARDI pay to FERRARI? Come on....
I agree that Max could be sensibly replaced...

Don't worry, The name will be change!!F1greyhound wrote:The series wont ever be called anything else than F1, GPWC what a name. (GPR is an option...)
Seems you are not up-to-date, the "totally new" concorde already exists, and Ferrari already signed it... unilaterally... (!) there say that ferrari will have all the same preferences as do now...F1greyhound wrote: There is no general dispute between Bernie and any of the teams, of course the money is the big issue but it will be very easy to reach an agreement. Q: Where can I see the Concorde Agreement?F1greyhound wrote: sgd, Im interested to learn how much teams like MINARDI pay to FERRARI? Come on....
A: You can't. It's secret, although some of its known....
Reportedly teams get only the 47% of TV revenues (nothing from the sanctioning fees and other income realized by Bernie ) and of that ferrari receive ~70%
"New" tems have to pay "older" teams to race.... so you see Minardi paying ~3Millon Dollar to Ferrari every year.... (and not only Minardi!!)
The new cooncorde is already a pice of s#$%, hope the GRP-F1 will go ahead, surely (as money will go to car develompent and not to Bernie's accounts) will see there the fastest cars on earth!!!! =)

The "New Concorde Agreement" is one handfull of Poker, the "GPWC" is another. Both mean nothing come 2008, the cards still have to be mixed.
F1 is the name, Bernie is the man, the traditional tracks will remain, FERRARI stays, the car manufacturers will have more rights(question is how happy Ron and Frank will be about that in a couple of years time..) and finally the CASH will be divided in a fairer way(which is GOOD)
No GPWC, no DTM+, no traditional tracks and TEAMS lost.
Keep Moving!

Nah, living in his Danish Castle, mourning the passing of Minardi, eating swiss cheese, n up til now, going to Indy for the GP n telling the yanks how to establish tradition, he still owes me a burn-out on the Castle Grounds, in Therapyjacfan wrote:Two years between posts... hmmm ..... somehow I think the topic is dead and the author possibly gone.Julian Mayo wrote:K-D, come back please, the forum needs another erudite chap to counterbalance meK-D wrote:Set up a poll, make real an sensible choices and I will answer.
