Should Badoer race at Spa or be replaced ?

Post by Ed » Tue Aug 25, 2009 5:11 pm

Luca Badoer was chosen by the Ferrari team to replace the injured Felipe Massa after Michael Schumacher decided not to make a comeback due to his nick injury.

Badoer's performance at Valencia was poor. He set the slowest lap times in practice and was the slowest in Qualifying. Significantly slower than the other rookie Romain Grosjean and the other newcomer Jamie Alguersuari.

Even prior to the European Grand Prix some were very critical of the decision to let Badoer drive. Niki Lauda said "Ferrari will have only one car in Spain: for Kimi Raikkonen. Badoer will barely exist. He will not be good enough" - (story)

Following Valencia there are more calls demading Ferrari drop Badoer and a number of drivers are offering their services including Coulthard (story), Fisichella (story) and Davidson (story) in addition to the other Ferrari test driver Marc Gene (story).

So should Ferrari given Badoer another chance at Spa or should they replace him immediately with someone else ? What do you think ?
(Also if you think a driver not in the list above should replace him then state that in your comment and we'll add that driver)

Unlike Valencia,he has done a few laps around here.
He is now experienced to a degree, in the car.
Give him a go.
The Mountain is a savage Mistress.
