Fernando Alonso wins the race ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Rubens Barrichello, Robert Kubica, Adrian Sutil, Nico Hulkenberg and Felipe Massa make the top 10.

The race was really between Alonso and Vettel as both drove brilliantly. Behind them Hamilton tried to capitalise on an opportunity to overtake Webber but the two touched and Hamilton had to retire (his second in 2 races).

The championship remains very close with Webber leading with 202, Alonso (191), Hamilton (182), Vettel (181) and Button (177)

Gave driver of the race to Alonso. I'm not a fan of his, but he and Vettel were a class apart, and Alonso won, so he deserves it.

I was amused to see that Lotus don't consider being on fire a reason to pit.

Hamilton's throwing his chance to win the title away.

Right now, it's a Webber-Alonso duel. Still too close to call.

Brilliant! I think that was classic Alonso. Driving a car that isn't really supposed to win and win in it. He was under pressure from start to finish and didn't make any mistakes.

That was Alonso at his best and that is why he deserves to win the title. I am worried though about the status of his engines.

Can't really understand why Webber struggled here where at Monaco he dominated. Also Hamilton continues to be caught by his over agressive moves. Two DNF's in a row will hurt
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

I'd forgotten about Monaco: that's a really good point. Kubica didn't do as well as he did (certainly in qualifying, can't quite recall the race) in Singapore as Monaco either.

3/4 DNFs in recent races for Hamilton is abysmal. He ought to be on 200-210, or thereabouts. Any one of the five could still win, but it's looking possible a Webber-Alonso duel.

Great driving/thinking by Heiki! The last thing anyone wants is a fire rolling down the pitlane.

He has considerable marshaling skills too, extinguishing the fire himself!
I'm in shape

Round is a shape...........

Wow that was certainly an interesting race.... it certainly had enough drama for most fans I think.

Congrats to Alonso.... great drive and he really deserved the win. Would have preferred to see Mark in second place but it wasn't to be and at least he is still in front of the WDC.

Lewis is throwing his chance out the window. lol

And of course the Heikki bbq at the end of the race was just brilliant. I guess he could get a job as a marshall if all else fails.

Webbo was in an updated chassis and never really felt comfortable with it.

Might that not prove a problem for him for the rest of the season?

Still, third was a great result for Webber, aided by McLaren's strategic incompetence and Hamilton taking a kamikaze approach to the race, once again.

If Korea doesn't go ahead, I wonder who would benefit.

It would perhaps if there were more "Singapores".

I don't think that will continue to be a problem. Next race should be good.

I hope it is on early as I am off on holiday on the Monday and don't want a late night.
