The green lights came on and everyone sat in the pits. I had drizzled between the session causing the track temperature to drop and, on a track with already low grip levels, many sat in their garages, waiting.
About 10 minutes into the session, all teams decide that that was the time to venture onto the track. Teams went through their programs and, with about 20 minutes remaining in the session, went onto the soft tyres for their qualifying runs. This didn't last too long as the red flags were thrown due to a drainage grate suspected of being possibly dislodged. Cars returned to the pits and an inspection was carried out. The cover was deemed safe. Charles Leclerc re-entered the track and the shifting of his gearbox caused him to pull behind the barriers. Cars again passed over the suspect drain cover and the red flags were again thrown. The session closed with only Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli completing their laps.

Gabriel Bortoleto has been given a 5 place grid penalty for his lap 1 incident with Lance Stroll.
Both McLarens are being investigated for excessive plank wear. Stay tuned. This could turn the WDC on its head.

Both McLarens have been disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix results for excessive plank wear.
This will tighten up the title chase with just 24 points separating Norris, Piastri and Verstappen.
