I am loving this season, but picking is an exercise in frustration!! Either something totally off the wall happens (last race it was the Kimster refusing to even PRACTICE with the special new steering Lotus worked long and hard to give him!) or a pit stop goes awry and, with the top runners being covered by fractions of a second, the race falls to the luckiest! In fact, about the only thing this season has shown us FOR SURE is that Fernando Alonso is hands down the best driver on the grid. Could anyone else, driving the ugliest Ferrari in living history, have earned 76 points and be leading in the driver's championship at this point!!!???
Anyway, here are me picks:
1. Seb Vettel RBR: he's on his game in a fast car and even tho' this is a circuit favoring Mercs : I think he'll snag the pole and sail away
2. Lewis Hamilton McL : it's hard to pass Lewis and he'll be in second place at the beginning and the end.
3. Kimi Raikkonen: Lotus : the Iceman averages 4th in Canada
4. Mark Webber: given how poorly ol Jense is doing I figure the Aussi will slip by him somehow
5. Jenson Button: McL : it would be a fairy tale twist if he should snap out of his slump but he's not the fairy tale type.
6. Fernando Alonso: Ferrari : he'll be higher in the mix earlier, but in the end the car will just fail him & he'll have to nurse his tyres
7. Nico Rosberg: he could surprise us all and make the podium, but there's a lot of talent on this grid!
8. Jean Grosjean: Lotus : if he can keep from running over someone!
9. Paul di Resta: maybe his cousin's luck will rub off on him?
10. K. Kobayashi: unless S. Perez manages to get by him without crashing
Pole: Seb. Vettel
can't wait to watch the carnage! Jim Watt
My Racing Gods: Fangio, Vukovich; Senna & Mears --all racers all the time; graceful winners & generous in defeat, but never giving up!!
