Who is your fave?
We all have a favourite driver/s so I thought it would help everyone to get it all out in the open. If at all you want to say who you do not like then I see no probs with that either.
Personally and probably at no surprise for anyone, I like Webber. Although I am starting to lose faith. I think he has the right attitude, but I have yet to see the brilliant driving I had hoped for.
I also like Alonso. Button is growing on me like Nick and David, but I still have reservations.
At the end of the race though I am always going for Webber. I am sure most of this is due to him being an Aussie, but I can't see any problem with that.

Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Well, I'm a Webber fan purely for patriotic reasons. I disagree with you about his attitude. He lacks adrenalin, aggression and is becoming to good at looking on the bright side. I am pleased with his last race however, but the word "brilliant" has not even come close to being used in his direction so far this year. When in close proximity to others he often seems to lose out - he needs to relax and be more confident - make the track his. He is not having fun at all so far.
Pariotism aside, I like Montoya. He basically has everything I think Webber presently lacks. Now here is someone who enjoys what he does, drives with great confidence and adrenalin and is even interesting and inspiring in post race interviews as well. something most of the F1 brigade are absolutely pathetic at!
Though I must admit, I find myself cracking up just b4 Kimi ever speaks in his post race interviews

Now its my turn...
I have supported DC ever since i can remember, so he is my number one driver (although i am a mclaren supporter through and through, i would never dream of changing teams)
I also think Montoya is awesome, and i have supported him for a good few years now, as well as Nick, and Fisi....(before they drove for Williams and Renault)
No offense to the two of you, but i dont think Webber features on my favourite drivers list....Granted he is a good driver with a good personality but, i dont know what it is about him that turns me away...
(maybe if he drove for Mclaren my view might change

Michael is still the best. I think he is also one of the most decent characters among the current drivers.
As I see it Damon and Mika were great competitors to Michael both speedwise and as persons and somehow todays young guns Fernando and Kimi lack something. While being right there on the pace they are not exciting people to me.

Its cool mate, I feel the sam way about monty. I had such high hopes for him, yet he has never delivered for me. Maybe this will turn around next year at McLaren.<T-K> wrote:Now its my turn...

I used to love watching the battles between Schuey and Mika. One of the best parts was watching Schuey throw the Ferrari around the track and wring all the speed he could out of it. You could really tell he was trying. Mika always looked like he was going the same speed. One of the things I think lacking these days is the cleaness of the driving. The fastest way around the track is the cleanest way, and they all know it. When someone gets a little sideways around the corner they are all woried about the 2 thenths of a second they have lost instead of thinking they are having fun and trying their hardest to go as quick as they can..F1greyhound wrote:Michael is still the best. I think he is still coming to terms with his Mclaren, give him a year or two and he will be on top....rah wrote:Its cool mate, I feel the sam way about monty. Tfer, these guys are supposed to be the best in the world. I recall wishing you all the best in your attempts to climb the mountain. At drive days, and I am an "old coot" I can get relatively comfortable in different vehicles, and drive them at 11 tenths within the few laps we are given. Tis about brain speed more than about being in a comfort situation. If your brain/eyes/reflexes/ arre comfortable then your body will be told by your brain to shut up and get on with the job. Mentally, I do think that Monty has a problem with Dennis, I suspect that he has only 1 year left to prove himsel.
And I do mean in F1f

I`m sure that in the unlikely event of Mclaren kicking him out, he would be snapped up by another team within a matter of seconds. (Exactly which team is a whole nuther discussion)
although your theory about him and Ron may not be too far off..

DC for his calm professional attitude (when he is not strangling people in the car park), I see him as the Elder Statesman of F1, and of course Mark. I have followed Marks career since FF in Oz. His car control in the Yellow Pages FF was a pleasure to behold. He is still learning the game and will win.

For me Michael is by far the best driver in the current lot, doesnt matter which team he drives for(political team),irrespective of him losing races. One thing i like about him is his commitment to sport-his driving.Even with a bad car,he would thrive to achieve the best result.
Only regret was that he didnt join the Mclaren team(fav Team) in 1999-2000.
Mika-Schumi pairing & rivalry would have brought Senna-Prost memories back.
Another fav- Montoya in the silver arrows!!!! Purely for his driving capabilities & guts...hmmm..spinning abilities too
If he doesnt break his shoulder next year & Mercedes is reliable,he'll hunt Kimi down to the wire.
