FIA's new CDG Wing (rejected for 2007!)
The FIA are saying that a new type of rear wing called the "cdg wing" may be introduced to f1 as soon as 2007, Max Mosely said the cdg wing is great for the future of f1 as many fans said there was not enough overtaking in a recent survey.
The wing itself is split into 2 wings, leaving a gap through the middle, designed to overcome the affects DIRTY AIR which causes the drivers to spend large amounts of times behind other drivers cars.

Some of the teams may put up quite a fight to keep the current wing. One of the problems with this new wing is it has a lot less advetising space on it. It is the most expensive part of the car to sponsor.
Besides that it could be a great idea.

Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.
FIA's new CDG (Centreline Downwash Generating) Wing
The FIA presented a new rear wing concept for Formula 1 cars named the CDG (Centreline Downwash Generating) wing to the F1 Commission on Monday. This design is intended to improve the aerodynamics of a Formula 1 car when tyring to overake another car.
The concept along with wide and slick tryes was adopted by the F1 commission for provisional introduction in 2007.

I don't know anything about aerodynamics and I am not sure that the FIA in their infinite wisdom are capable of this unless of course a team or two were involved!!
They thought this year we'll have more overtaking but apart from Japan we didn't really. Before they make it a rule, can't they test it on a track first
It looks ugly but I think we'll get used to it. It looks fragile though ? If the normal rear wings used to fall off, these look more likely to fall and if that happens, the car will spin off straight away won't it ?
And they are returning to slicks ? Sounds like many of the rules they introduced a few years ago are being scrapped. Wonder how long this CDG (what a stupid name) will last!!
