F1 viewing numbers

Post by foreignyachty » Thu Oct 27, 2005 8:37 pm

Hi all, anyone know where I can find viewing numbers to date for 2005 Europe for F1? Have UK already, can't find other countries. :D

That is a tough question foreignyachty

Ratings companies would have those for each country but they are usually subscriber based.

Formula One Management (FOM) would of course have those figures but they usually don't make them public.

Searching the net, you'll probably find figures from earlier years.

In general terms, we beleive that except for Germany, the figures for Europe were up this year.

Thanks mate, I tried FOM and you're right, they are pretty cagey about that sort of thing. I am currently trying the networks themselves and have had some luck in UK and Germany. Digging continues....... :D

Major newspapers in each of the countries may have the information archived. Good luck.

Foreignyachty....Speed Channel does the F1 broadcasts here in the United States. I don't know the exact numbers, but it's probably several million here. Of course, that was probably before the USGP this year....I don't even want to guess at the numbers afterwards, though.
